Rose
Albano Risso is a photographic artist, photojournalist, newspaper reporter
and editor: mentored by Raymundo Albano, a former curator of the Cultural
Center of the
Philippines and former artist-in-residence at the University
of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. Since the 1980’s, Rose has been photographing the many facets of agriculture, the native flora and fauna, and the birds of the San Joaquin Valley. Her photographs have won many awards at juried shows, and have appeared in books and magazines: including the American Photographer and Popular Photography. She
has won awards from the California Newspaper Publishers Association and the National Newspaper Association. She is currently city editor of the Manteca Bulletin: a daily paper published in Manteca, California.
